PHOTO CONTEST

Here's the Rules

Starting today, and ending August 25th 2000 Co-ltek has announced the "Co-ltek WAS THERE" photo competition.

A 1 ounce nugget will be awarded to each of two lucky winners. One of the winners will also win a Minelab Explorer XS Metal Detectorl.

Here's how it works.

Between now, and August 25th, 2000, if you plan to be on vacation in some very interesting place, take your Co-ltek coil along. Makes no difference if you plan on detecting there!

Let's say you are planning on going to Paris France this summer, take your Co-ltek coil, pose in front of the Eiffel Tower prominently holding your Co-ltek coil, put a big smile on your face and have someone snap your picture.

Let's say you're going to vacation in Nevada this year and just happen to pass by one of the many legal brothels. I don't recommend that you become a patron of the establishment, but you can stand in front of the sign that says, "Mabel's House of Ill Repute", and have your picture taken with your Co-ltek coil.

Or at the other end of the spectrum maybe you're going to Italy, well how about a shot in front of the Vatican?

Here's the rules! (We reserve the right to add, or modify the rules as the competition progresses, although the prizes will be at the very least what we are offering now, we may upgrade the prizes, or add prizes for different categories depending on the response to the competition.)

1. After taking your "Co-ltek WAS THERE PICTURE", you must post it here on the BBS forum. With the caption in the subject line: The Eiffel Tower, Paris France, Co-ltek WAS THERE, or "MABEL's HOUSE OF ILL REPUTE, Ely Nevada, Co-ltek WAS THERE", etc.

2. You must send your picture along with the negative in an envelope to me "DOC" Co-ltek WAS THERE COMPETITION 3740 S. Royal Crest Street, Las Vegas, Nevada 89119. It must be in my hands no later than Midnight August 25th. 2000. (All entries become out possession and will not be returned.)

3. You may use a digital shot for the posting, but you must also take a regular 35 mm picture to submit to me to be in the running. We will not accept digital shots on disk, we must have a negative to confirm authenticity of the shot. Too many slick things you can do with Photo Paint programs these days. So we must have 35 mm shots and a negative.

4. When your picture is submitted it must contain a letter from you telling us where and when the picture was taken, your name, address, phone number and a statement authorizing "DOC" and Co-ltek to use your picture in any way they deem appropriate, including but not limited to advertising. Please make sure you include the information of where the photo was taken, both the name of the place, like the VATICAN, and the Geological location, like Rome, Italy, and the date.. Your picture(s) and negative(s) become the property of Co-ltek Pty Ltd. / DOC and will not be returned.

5. There is no limit to the number of entries per individual, as long as each entry is of a different place. You do not need to have your Co-ltek coil attached to a detector, but it may look better.

6. You may also use celebrities as your place of interest. For example, maybe you run into Al Pacino, walking down the street in Hollywood California. "Hey Al, mind if I have a picture taken with you with my Co-ltek metal detecting coil?" You get your Co-ltek, stand next to Al, and have your picture taken. Submit the shot, ME WITH AL PACINO HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA, Co-ltek WAS THERE. Make sure you get Al to sign a release that the photo can be used for any way you want including advertising for a competition.

7. By no later than August 30th. all entries will be numbered and posted on a web site. From August 30th to September 3rd midnight you can vote for your favorite shot considering, the quality of the picture, the uniqueness of the location, the overall value of the picture (incduding prominence of the Co-ltek coil in the shot) as being something that could be used to promote Co-ltek coils.

You must vote by sending an email to the email address listed on the site, indicating the number of the picture you are voting for, including your name, address, telephone number and legitimate email address. Sorry no Yahoo, Hotmail, Free Mail email addresses, you must use your ISP email address.  (Too many people have numerous free email accounts and could vote multiple times.) You may vote for your own shot once! However you can have your friends vote for you. Voters may vote for only one shot, no multiple voting, so use your one vote wisely.

8. No lewd or distasteful pictures. A picture of you in front of a sign that says, "Mabel's House of Ill Repute", that's sort of funny. A picture of you in front of a sign that says, "Mabel's House of Ill Repute", with a naked hooker by your side, that's lewd. I mean your index to submit those pictures for my private collection, they just won't be considered for the competition. :-)

9. By September 5, 2000 we will announce the name of the person who got the most votes. And they will win, a Australian Gold Nugget weighing at least an ounce, and a Brand New Minelab Explorer XS. Any indication that there has been voting fraud, and Co-ltek, Pty Ltd reserves the right to disregard the voting and judge the pictures and determine a winner.

10. By September 5, 2000 we will also conduct a random drawing of all entrants and the winner will win a Australian Gold Nugget weighing at least 1 ounce.

So even if you don't think your picture is the most exciting location in the world, or that you have a chance to be voted the best picture, submit your shot anyway because you may win in the random drawing.

There will also be 10 honorable mentions determined by Co-ltek Pty Ltd. that will win a Co-ltek hat.

Only one prize awarded per entrant, no multiple prizes.

Now let's see those, "Co-ltek WAS THERE SHOTS!"

Be Careful Out There!

That's the famous minuteman standing on the stone monument. This is a great area to bring the family. Very historical area: Louisa May Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson lived in Concord to name a couple famous people.
